This event is a fundraiser for Oyate Nipi Kte, an organization dedicated to the recovery of Dakota traditional knowledge & sustainable living, resisting colonization, and empowering people to strengthen Dakota nationhood.  Some of their current work includes recovering land so Dakota people can establish new communities based on sustainability and adherence to ancient ways of being, writing textbooks on Dakota language, and educating Dakota youth about traditions and decolonization.  Check out their website for more info.

This evening will also be a conversation about decolonization and solidarity work.  What can we do to unravel the active systems of oppression that began when white settlers first came to Minnesota?

We hope you'll join us.  And please pass this invite on to friends.

Hosted by the Prairie Roots Giving Circle.  The Giving Circle is open to anyone.  Every three months, we each contribute an amount of money that is personally significant.  We decide together what organizations to support - prioritizing groups that do not receive many grants, who bring people together to create systemic change, and who are led by those most impacted by injustice.
