Lux Aeterna

This Mother's Day weekend concert at St. Mary's Chapel, meant to memorialize lost loved ones, spotlights the stirring Lux Aeterna (Eternal Light) by acclaimed contemporary composer Morten Lauridsen, as well as Randall Thompson's Alleluia, Mendelssohn's setting of Psalm 42 and Brahms'"How Lovely Is Thy Dwelling Place." Also meant to uplift and provide comfort are Brahms' motet O Savior, Throw the Heavens Wide, and the first movement of Mozart's Symphony No. 40. As one of only a handful of choruses in the nation with its own orchestra, Exultate is famed for its powerful and polished performances. A portion of the concert's proceeds go to Caring Bridge, which connects and supports those dealing with health issues.
