Recently In the Heart of the Beast Theatre, celebrated a 40th anniversary. As it happens, another 40th annual event took place on Sunday May 18. The Linden Hills Festival has gathered in Linden Hills Park for forty years now. I had stopped last year, but not until later in the afternoon. I resolved to photograph the Parade of Wheels and Pets in 2014, and here are some of the images. The slideshow should portray some of the action and color of the Parade participants.
At the opposite side of the Park from the starting line, was the pony ride rink. The Parade had a tendency to loss some of the momentum as some diverted off to check out the ponies.
Can't blame the digression.
It is amazing to learn how many years these events have been continuing. The delight of the children explains a large part of why these events continue. Here is to the adults that value the delight enough to continue to volunteer.
