Michael Hingson is a New York Times best-selling author and international lecturer. Michael, blind since birth, survived the 9/11 attacks, walking down from the 78th floor of the North Tower, with the help of his guide dog, Roselle. This story is the subject of his best-selling book, Thunderdog.
This fundraiser brunch benefits the animals at Home for Life. Home for Life is a non-profit animal sanctuary dedicated to provide life-long care to animals with disabilities, diseases and temperament problems that cause them to be "unadoptable." These animals go on to pay it forward by participating in outreach programs, such as pet visits to hospitals and veterans facilities as well as at-risk youth centers and domestic violence shelters.
