Sat, 10/18/2014 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm

The days may be getting shorter and the weather colder, but that doesn’t mean the foraging season has come to a close! On the contrary-- fall is the time to harvest roots, nuts, and late-season fruits. Join the North Country Food Alliance, Growing West Side, and WSCO Sustainable Living Committee as we explore the West Side of St. Paul and learn what bounty fall has to offer the urban forager. We will discuss the identification, harvest, and preparation of a variety of wild foods, including crab apples, acorns, hackberries, and various roots.

Meet at the Stryker Community Garden on the corner of Stryker Ave S. and Elizabeth St. W.  I will have a sign. Please be on time, as we will be wandering around and you won't find us if you're late!

Suggested donation of $5. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

**Class size is limited. To register, please email foraging [at] northcountryfoodalliance [dot] org with the names of the participants. Thank you.
