Up-and-coming pop singer Mayda brings her fresh, R&B-influenced sound to the stage of the New Century. A Korean adoptee raised in Minnesota, Mayda is a young but prolific multi-instrumentalist, artist and producer. Her music has been featured on Jersey Shore, Showtime and MTV, and she's made appearances on The Rachel Ray Show and Good Morning America, in addition to touring nationally and internationally. Producer and mentor Michael Bland (who drummed with Prince in the early '90s and currently plays with Nick Jonas), released Mayda's first full-length album, The Interrogation, on his Sonic Matrimony Collective label. The Current's Andrea Swensson said of Mayda, "she swings between pared-down acoustic struts, full-band funkadelic blasts, and electronic drumbeats and synth flourishes that would make the Purple One proud ... It's hard not to anticipate big things from the petite yet larger-than-life pop songstress." Mayda recently released her latest collection of new songs, Busy Signals Part I.
