Hosted by Mimi Nguyen, Sam Ferree and Jamie Amy Ann
Story Club Minneapolis is a storytelling show featuring both an open mic segment and a curated selection of stories from invited performers. The Story Club stage showcases stories like “The Moth,” but with a more democratic structure – no judges, no scores. Founded in Chicago during 2009, Story Club gained citywide attention and rave reviews. Founder Dana Norris told the Chicago Tribune, “We think an individual’s experience has merit, and by hearing about it, we learn something about the way the world actually is.”
Story Club Minneapolis is spearheaded by producer and host Mimi Nguyen – a former Chicagoan, seasoned Story Club regular and friend of Norris. Before and at the beginning of each show, Nguyen invites audience members to sign up for a raffle for one of three open mic slots. The show itself is the perfect mix of spontaneity with live theater thrills. Come and excite your ears!

November guests:
January’s show will feature Haddayr Copley-Woods and Molly Schultz Pederson. Copley-Woods writes fiction, essays, criticism and an advice column. Pederson is a writer and raconteur who hails from Wisconsin. She currently works for Governor Dayton but can’t talk about it or she’d have to kill you. Three audience members get a chance to tell their own story; sign up for the open mic raffle before the show.
