Famed for its highly-physical fusion of Afro-Brazilian dance, capoeira and contemporary movement, Contempo Physical Dance returns to The Cowles Center with Motirô, a defining work for the company choreographed by artistic director and founder Marciano Silva dos Santos. Based on a Brazilian indigenous word meaning "a meeting of people to help and build something together," this full-length performance brings to life the company's irresistible fusion of traditional Afro-Brazilian dance, modern movement and acrobatics.
