The new Minneapolis-based dance company known as Shapeshift takes the latest hip-hop moves and combines them with elements of theater to create impactful stories of love, loss and emotion. Produced and choreographed by locals Herb Johnson and Ashley Selmer, Shapeshift is made up of close to 20 talented multicultural dancers, who explore themes ranging from chemical dependency to discrimination and beyond. Johnson and Selmer's recent collaborations include Prince's 3rdEyeGirl and America's Got Talent's popular crew iLuminate, and their work with Shapeshift has been warmly received throughout the region.
