Setting a New Compass for Climate Justice
Join us for a presentation by Kim Wasserman, the recipeint of the prestigous Goldman Environmental Prize. Kim will lead a public forum on building solutions to climate change and community health. Kim received the Goldman Environmental Award for her environmental health and justice work. She successfully organized her community to shut down two of the country's oldest and dirtiest coal plants in her Chicago neighborhood, Kim is now working to organize for climate and energy policies that will build vibrant and healthy communities for everyone. A strong Chicana leader, Kim will present on re-claiming our future and our environment.Come hear Kim Wasserman on January 25th at the Paul and Sheila Wellstone Center Auditorium in St. Paul. She will be part of an afternoon of environmental discussions on these important issues. Panelists also include Veronica Burt, Just Equity; Roxxanne O'Brien, Minneapolis Citizen's Environmental Advisory Committee; MPCA Commissioner John Stine: MN Representative Carlos Mariani; Minneapolis City Council members Elizabeth Glidden and Alondra Cano; Dr. David Pellow, Don Martindale Endowed Chair, University of Minnesota; Jeff Matson and Kristen Murray from the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs, University of MInnesota; and Dr. Cecilia Martinez and Shalini Gupta from the Center for Earth, Energy and Democaracy.
