Leonard Peltier will be the featured prisoner at February's event. Leonard Peltier is an American Indian Movement activist, and a political prisoner of almost 40 years. He was convicted of the 1975 murder of two FBI agents, but maintains his innocence. The agents were killed during a conflict on Pine Ridge, in a period marked by the FBI's intensely repressive and violent COINTELPRO operations against AIM.
What is this? A chance to hang out, write to prisoners, and discuss anti-prison issues and activities with other rad folks! Letter-writing nights will be the first thursday of every month, and a different prisoner will be featured each time.
