Professor C.C. Heintzeman was a visionary educator who used music to change the lives of Minneapolis factory-working boys in the early 1900s. In playwright Dominic Orlando's world-premiere musical, romance, patriotism and the approaching thrum of World War I weave together in a celebration of Heintzeman's life and the rough-and-tumble young men who formed the Working Boys Band under his tutelage. Put on by History Theatre, a company devoted to exploring the rich history of Minnesota, Working Boys Band is a tribute to the power of music, compassion and discipline.
